Oh well, I'm in absolutely minority there, so I'll try to refrain myself and comment only book one.I bought this book with just one glance at the summary. Really, it was that impulsive, and I don't regret it even one bit, except maybe that's just a novella so no topic is addressed to deeply for my taste. Humans has left earth, found several races, trade with them and are dealing with a civil war. All that is just there, no story lessons or anything. In this context we met Liam, a deeply wounded human trader. He's a linguistic who trades with the local race, the Rownt. Liam's favourite trader is Ondry, a nivce enough alien despite their nonexistent codes of camaraderie and friendship between beings.Evil human commander (representing the whole evilness of humans as a whole topic way too redundant in book two) mistreats Liam in one occasion and that is proof enough to Ondry that Liam is being misused as a palteia or guy who serves, kinda submissive, not aggressive enough to betray his partner.The book has enough angst and sweet comfort so I devoured the poor book in a few blinks. Lyn Gala even manages to create a very sensual scenario with two sexually incompatible races. Now that's creative. I for one, though, wouldn't consider this book bdsm. Yeah, Liam is a sub who has suppressed his desires to avoid getting hurt anymore. Clearly, poor guy has made poor choices in life (besides life being a bitch to Liam as well), but his relationship with Ondry is... alien. At a point, Ondry states that he creates the rules of the relationship and his needs come always first, yet what we do see in action is actually really tame.A great book! a really entertaining novella, with so much potential for a whole book considering how much story and lore could have been added.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.Erotic-food-for-thought sort of story. Want more!!!By Kindle CustomerWow! Just wow! Had to buy the second part and Im chomping at the bit to get a next part whenever!!! The whole concept lf the story is fascinating! Love how well thought and described are bith the alien culture and the background... Liam is not your typical seme... He is a intelligent but damaged man who is determined to do his duty. Imagine! Thrown out of his home to feed his smaller siblings, abused by those he trusted and finally attracted by an Ondry a humanoid Alien!! Then the alien himself... Such a fascinating world and the characters! The author plays with common concepts as seen from different persoectives. I was dumbfounded when I was made to think about the actual definition of ideas like 'war' and 'humanoid'! I must confess, I was a bit leery of buying the story because its short, I am a book addict and like some meat in my stories... Not that I dont enjoy PWP stories ocassionally. For me paying $5 for less than 300 pages can be a deal breaker but I dont regret going by my gut instinct in this case! The BDSM did not detract from the story... Instead it enhanced and gave the story relevance. A species where 'submissive' does not equal 'sexual deviant' or worse was really cool! The way characters from both cultures interact was fascinating. For me, this story has a re-readability factor of plus 8. I knew I was in trouble when I found myself hitting buy halfway through the preview... And nailed my own coffin when a couple pages over the book itself, I had to get the other one... So it was with real regret that I wailed when I saw there is nothing else after the second one... And I NEED more! I want to know what happens when they travel... If Ondry succeeds in his quest for trade... I want to know if they are presented with offspring and the challenges of that. I want to know if war breaks or not... So much to ask!!! I love well-thought and engaging stories... That are hot and spicy enough to please my jaded interest... And this really did make it to the top! Can somebody tell Ms Gala to make this a series and make my year She certainly has enough to write many stories within this world! Both m/m BDSM and regular M/F BDSM! This one has a very interesting and unique plot. Kudos to the writer's amazing imagination for giving us such an fascinating alien culture and it really could not get more alien than what we are used to in terms of gender dynamics, breeding, sex and what we human perceive as dominant/submission and coercion. Most intriguing. And of course the Rownt's physique and emotions are just as unhuman. It is so easy to feel deeply for Liam's character as his story unfolds. A man who has been abused horribly in the past and now too scared to submit to his needs. Faced with the unjust prospect of being stripped from the only thing that has given him happpiness for 5 years it is just uplifting when Liam is "rescued" by an alien who could give him the very thing he needs. I enjoy the dynamics between Liam and Ondry and their journey as they slowly but surely understand and discover each other. Lyn Gala has really proved her versatility as a writer with this story.
