Ringo does battle scenes extremely well and apparently has some personal knowledge of combat. He certainly has knowledge of service. As with most books of this genre, characterizations and character development are the weakest part, although far better than many. I have read all of the books in this group I think 11 titles. 4 main, 3 side 1 out another 3. I would put this in a class with the Frank Herbert Universe of Dune. I love authors coming together to fill a universe. I have never had such an awesome military and science fiction tie in as this.
