There is a wealth of information in this book about the families, officers and soldiers of both British and American and the military skirmishes and battles that occurred. If you are researching your family tree and want to know what unit your ancestor served in or where they were in a battle, this is a good resource. There are extensive lists of "begats" and dates that might be helpful to you. The book doesn't flow like a novel most of the time, and I had to constantly remember this is a history and, in my opinion, best read in smaller parcels so it doesn't become too dry. That said, I was not looking for a fascinating, fast-paced read.
